Winter in Paradise

In Seattle, the snow is a hazard and after three days of inaccessible roads, office closures, lack of public transit, power outages, and western Washington being declared in a state of emergency; the snow is melting.  I dread the snow here because it puts the city on lock down and it could turn your 20 minute commute into an 4 hour ordeal.  It's a problem unless you have a sled :). Seriously- YouTube sledding in Seattle.

I needed a reminder that winter is beautiful so I started looking through my photos.  Here's a picture from a trip up to Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park. I like this image because it feels peaceful.  Something about a blanket of snow makes everything quiet and still.  It also reminds me that "to everything there is a season" and in  few months this field will be filled with wild flowers.  We should enjoy it while it lasts. Happy Winter!
